Fast fact:

The Whatcom County Library System owns and operates the Administrative Services facility which also houses Northwest Drive Library Express (holds pickup and library returns only), and the North Fork Community Library, which was built by the Friends of the North Fork Community Library. Currently, local communities provide and maintain all other spaces that house our libraries and WCLS provides the staff, materials, and technology. In Blaine, Everson, Ferndale, Lynden, and Sumas, city governments are the building owners. Friends of the Library groups own and maintain the Deming, and Island Library locations. The Point Roberts Park & Recreation District owns and maintains the new Point Roberts Library facility, and the Sudden Valley Community Association owns the Adult Center that houses the South Whatcom Library. In Birch Bay, WCLS purchased the “Brown House” property and is working with the Friends of the Birch Bay Library to raise the funds to pay for the land and the new library.
