The Whatcom County Library offers a variety of storytime programs for very young children.  View times and locations on our storytime calendar.

TODDLER STORYTIME

Ages 1 – 3, 20 minutes

Features concept books, simple stories, and opportunities for movement and interactive participation.

PRESCHOOL STORYTIME

Ages 3 – 5, 30 minutes

Features longer stories, rhymes, and songs that engage preschool children’s developing attention spans and understandings.

STORYTIME

Ages 2 – 6, 30 minutes

An open program that combines elements of Toddler & Preschool Storytimes, including something for everyone.

STORIES & PLAY

Ages 3 – 5, 60 minutes

Begins with a Preschool Storytime, followed by open early learning play with a variety of activities and materials.

SENSORY STORYTIME

Ages 3 – 7, 45 minutes

Designed specifically for children with sensory integration challenges, builds traditional storytime elements into a predictable routine, followed by free play with developmentally appropriate toys. Open to all, but registration is required and space is limited. Email about registration or submit questions here.

LITTLE BODIES BIG HEARTS STORYTIME

Ages 2 – 6, 30 minutes

Explores feelings and emotions through story and song, developing social and emotional awareness critical for success in school.

CUENTOS EN ESPAÑOL

Edades 3 – 7, 30 minutos / Ages 3 – 5, 30 minutes

Incluye los elementos tradicionales de la hora de cuentos, abierto para todas las familias interesadas en eschucar historias, canciones y rimas en Español.

Features the traditional elements of storytime, open to all families interested in hearing stories, songs and rhymes in Spanish.
