Storytimes

The Whatcom County Library System offers a variety of storytime programs for very young children.  Storytime introduces young children to the library and the joys of reading. It’s the perfect time to make friends, develop social skills, and get ready to read. View times and locations on our storytime calendar

IN PERSON


TODDLER STORYTIME
Ages 1 – 3, 20 minutes
Features concept books, simple stories, and opportunities for movement and interactive participation.

STORYTIME
Ages 2 – 6, 30 minutes
An open program that combines elements of Toddler & Preschool Storytimes, including something for everyone.

PRESCHOOL STORYTIME
Ages 3 – 5, 30 minutes
Features longer stories, rhymes, and songs that engage preschool children’s developing attention spans and understandings.

 

ONLINE


HORA DE CUENTOS BILINGÜES  EN ZOOM
(ages 2–6, 30 minutes)
Las familias o adultos al cuidado de niños pequeños disfrutarán una gran variedad de historias, canciones, rimas, y actividades corporales mientras desarrollan habilidades que preparan a los niños para la lectura en inglés y español. / Families with young children enjoy stories, songs, rhymes, and movement activities while building early reading skills in English and Spanish.

MOVE @ HOME 

(birth-5)
A time to sing, rhyme, dance and move for young children and their caregivers. Join Youth Services staff via Zoom as they lead the group in an active, participatory program.


PAJAMA STORYTIME
(ages 2–8, 30 minutes)
An evening storytime that combines stories, songs, and activities. Grab your stuffie, wear your pajamas and join youth services staff over Zoom.
