Introducing Library Liftoff: your new digital airport library
The Whatcom County Library System is taking flight! In December 2018, we partnered with the Bellingham International Airport (BLI) to launch “Library Liftoff”—an eye-catching space that encourages travelers to download free library eBooks and eAudiobooks at the airport.
Located at Gate D, Library Liftoff encourages travelers to use the airport’s free wireless internet to download the free Libby eBook and eAudiobook app to their mobile phone or tablet, connect to the library, and stock up on great reading (or listening!).
Access your library on the go
You can enjoy the library’s free digital content from anywhere, 24/7. Get access to more than 40,000 free eBooks and eAudiobooks from the Whatcom County Library System with the Libby app; download the app from iTunes, Google Play, or Amazon. Need help getting started? Watch this short how-to video.
Books give you wings
Thanks to our partnership with Bellingham International Airport (BLI), we’re helping spread the joy of reading AND the joy of travel! Board a flight to Seattle to answer the question, “Where’d you go, Bernadette?“ or travel to Tucson to help solve a Sarah Burke mystery. If you haven’t been to our local airport lately, you’re in for a treat—BLI has direct flights from Bellingham to Tucson; they also offer non-stop flights to Seattle, San Juan Islands, Oakland/San Francisco, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, San Diego, Phoenix-Mesa, and Las Vegas. Seasonal service to Hawaii (Kona) and Maui from November through April. Learn more about BLI at www.FlyBLI.com.
