Blaine Building Project Public Meeting #3

Project Realities

Tuesday, January 14, 2010

Our third public meeting to discuss the budding vision for a new Blaine Library was well received despite the cold and snow. Not surprisingly, the topic of fireplaces came up.

Two designs developed from feedback about three initial proposals were presented. Following that presentation, the 35 attendees engaged in conversation with the design team, WCLS staff, and representatives from the City of Blaine to highlight what is working right with the designs and to problem-solve together elements that need improvement.

A sustainability scorecard was developed to ensure that the final design would reach LEED Silver status if required in the future. A final meeting to reveal the final design concept is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 11 from 5:30 – 7:00 PM at the Blaine Senior Center.
