Desktop Support Technician
The Whatcom County Library System (WCLS) is currently accepting applications for the position of Desktop Support Technician. The Desktop Support Technician assists staff with technical support and management of desktop computers, applications, and related technology including specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals; assists in the maintenance and testing of network servers and associated equipment. Requires Associates Degree and two or more years related technical support experience in a wide range of technology platforms and systems, and excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and a genuine desire to help people with technology challenges. Page - Lynden Library (2 Positions)
The Whatcom County Library System is accepting applications for two part-time Library Page positions at the Lynden Library. *This job opportunity does not represent new positions, but rather replacement positions at WCLS.* The Page sorts and shelves books and other library materials alpha/numerically; performs shelf reading and reorganizes shelves for correct location of materials and attractive appearance of shelves; performs minor repairs on books and library materials; assists patrons with basic circulation tasks; and other similar duties. Must be 16 years or older to apply. Requires the ability to speak and understand English. Twelve regularly scheduled weekly hours plus substitute hours. $10.49 per hour. Apply by Friday, October 16. Whatcomics 2015

Get Your Artwork Published in our Teen Art Book!

Whatcomics is an annual publcation that highlights amazing Teen artists and doodlers from Whatcom County.  We want your creations, your jots, your carefully created pictures - whatever spins your creative wheel, we'd love to see it.

Whatcomics is distributed to public libraries and schools thoughout our County, giving Teens in grades 6-12 a new way to share their artistic talents.

The Basics:

  •      For Teens in grades 6-12
  •      Original artwork only - no characters from books, movies, games or shows
  •      8.5 x 11 unlined paper only
  •      No pencil - it's hard for us to reproduce if it's too lightly drawn
  •      Black & White OR Color
  •      Team or group entries allowed
  •      All levels of artwork welcomed

Entry Deadline: October 31, 2015

How to turn in your work: Drop your artwork off at any public library with an entry form attached. Entry forms can be printed off here or picked up at the library.
