16 year-old Muslim girl Shirin moves around a lot. Her family is constantly moving from place to place in search of better jobs, houses, and futures. In 2002, a year after the 9/11, Shirin is constantly bullied and threatened for just being Islamic. Soon she meets another student named Ocean, with whom she becomes friends and is happy to have someone how finally seems to understand her.
