LEARNING RESOURCES
WCLS supports both parents and educators with fun, library-created learning resources to help children become their best selves.

We believe parents are a child’s first and best teacher. Early Literacy Kits (for ages birth through 5) help parents understand and use the five practices that help prepare children for literacy: Talking, Singing, Playing, Reading, and Writing. These kits are filled with books, activities, games and information for adults.

Preschool Theme Kits (for ages 3-5) and Baby Boxes(for ages 0-3) let kids explore the world, and get ready for school. With themes like Animals, Weather, and Colors, each kit includes books, teaching resources, activities, songs and fingerplays, as well as a DVD or CD for kids.

Designed for classroom use, our People of the Salish Sea Curriculum Kits introduce students to the Coast Salish People, past and present, with a special focus on Lummi Nation and the Nooksack Tribe. Each kit contains a full curriculum with lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, and links to online resources, along with a set of physical artifacts.
