At their August 2012 meeting, the Whatcom County Library Foundation board of directors approved five grant applications totaling $3,550. The Friends of Sudden Valley Library, Friends of Island Library, and Friends of Point Roberts Library each received 

$1,000 grants for their building projects. Ferndale Library received $250 for a DVD player and sound system for their teen programs, and the public services department of WCLS received $300 for “little libraries;” small collections of books and information placed in waiting rooms and other public spaces to reach out to non-library users.

These grants are made possible by the donations YOU make to the Foundation.  In just six years, the Foundation has granted more than $32,000 to library programs and construction projects.
