APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Applications are submitted online through our application system powered by iSolved. Before you start the process, read the overview below. For questions about this process use our contact form.
Your Online Application Account
- You will create an account when you first apply for employment with WCLS. Create a username (your email address) and password.
- Monitor your email, including your junk folder, to ensure you receive any communications about the application or interview process in a timely manner.
- If you forget your password, use the “forgot password” feature to have a password reset sent to the email associated with your account at setup.
Your Application
- Carefully read the entire job posting before completing and submitting all relevant materials requested.
- There are two steps to the application process.
- The first step consists of a few baseline questions including your name and contact information. At this point you will be prompted to upload your resume.
- The second step occurs after you receive a follow-up email. You will fill out the full application using the link provided.
- Applicants must complete the full application by the deadline to be considered for any WCLS position.
- When you upload your resume at the start of the application process, the system can autofill the appropriate fields in your online application.
- If you choose to apply for a different position within the Whatcom County Library System, your application will autofill with the information you submitted on your most recent application.
- Please review all fields for accuracy before submitting. Pay particular attention to content and formatting that may carry over from any autofill features, including bullets, fonts or headings.
- Save frequently. The system may time out if inactive for too long. Save your progress often.
Deadline
- Make sure to submit your completed application before the closing date and time listed on each unique job posting. After the deadline, you will be locked out of the system, and late applications will not be accepted.
Technical issues
- If you experience problems with the application system, contact iSolved Customer Support at 1-888-633-9269. While the WCLS HR team can assist with questions about the hiring process, we are unable to troubleshoot technical problems with the application system.
Selection
- Applications will be screened and applicants who best match the needs of posted positions will be contacted if they are selected for an interview. The hiring process may take a minimum of 4 to 8 weeks.
Offers of Employment Conditional
- All offers of employment are conditioned on the provision of satisfactory proof of applicant’s identity and legal authority to work in the U.S. Offers of employment are also conditioned on receipt of satisfactory responses to reference requests and a criminal background check, when required.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, color, age, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, status as an actual or perceived victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking, the presence of any sensory, mental or physical disability or the use of a trained dog guide or service animal by a person with a disability, honorably discharged veteran or military status, or any other legally protected class.
