Evie

Hi!  I’m Evie.  I love reading books, especially books families read together.  Stories of someone overcoming something hard and thriving afterwards are my favorite.

What did you like to read when you were young?

When I was young I had a grandparent who was mostly house-bound.  Twice a week we would go to the library together.  I don’t remember what books I liked to read, what I remember was the magic of the library.  Walking through those doors, having all those books to choose from, getting to take something home, watching my granddad, who was legally blind, DEVOUR what he chose then going back in a few days to do it all over again was a highlight of my childhood!

Where is your favorite spot to read?

My favorite spot to read is on my deck:  The waterfall going into the pond gurgling, the birds flitting back and forth to the feeders and their song filling the air, the butterflies flitting through the yard.

Is there a book that changed the way you see the world?

I think every book I read changes the way I see the world a little because I get to see into someone else’s life, hear their story and think about how it impacts their choices and influences the outcomes of their lives. One book of special note is, This is How it Always Is by Laurie Frankel.
