The Whatcom County Library System (WCLS) is accepting applications for a full-time Public Services Assistant (PSA) – Punjabi Cultural Liaison position with the Whatcom County Library System. The PSA Cultural Liaison provides a complete range of library services and develops and maintains connections with patrons, organizations, and others, with a focus on the Punjabi community. Requires three or more years relevant experience (such as customer service experience), or Associate Degree and one year of experience, or equivalent combination of training, education and experience, as well as excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to speak and understand English and Punjabi. 40 regularly scheduled weekly hours, plus substitute hours. This position is compensated at Pay Level 8 on WCLS Salary Structure. The 2024 starting wage in Pay Level 8 will be $20.9764 per hour. The maximum wage in Pay Level 8 for 2024 will be $29.3742 per hour. Excellent benefits including Social Security, pension retirement options, long-term disability insurance, and medical, dental, and optical insurance available for employees and their families; All full-time employees shall accrue time off with pay in accordance with the accrual schedule, starting with 8 hours of vacation time per month and 8 hours of sick time per month, and 12 paid holidays per year (pro-rated in proportion to actual hours worked when less than 40 hours per week).
