The Whatcom County Library System is accepting applications for a temporary part-time Library Page position at the Island Library located on Lummi Island. This position is a temporary seasonal position to run from approximately July 3-September 1, 2023. The Page sorts and shelves books and other library materials alpha/numerically; performs shelf reading and reorganizes shelves for correct location of materials and attractive appearance of shelves; performs minor repairs on books and library materials; assists patrons with basic circulation tasks; and other similar duties. Must be 16 years or older to apply. Requires the ability to speak and understand English. Average of Eight (8) regularly scheduled weekly hours plus substitute hours between July 3-Sept 1, 2023, in addition to training hours to be scheduled upon availability. Starting wage in this position is $15.8305 per hour; maximum wage in this position is $20.5798; additional $0.30 per hour Bilingual Pay premium available for employees who pass a language assessment in ASL, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, or Ukrainian. Sick time accrued one (1) hour of paid sick leave for every forty (40) hours worked in accordance with Washington State Paid Sick Leave Law RCW 49.46.210.
