Now that all of this year's Whatcom READS! activities are over, it's time to get reading next year's title!  In case you missed the announcement made at Cheryl Strayed's speaking events, author Daniel James Brown has agreed to visit Whatcom County over three days next February to talk about his NYT bestselling book The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.  Brown's telling of the University of Washington’s rowing team's quest to win gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics is hard to put down and will keep you up way too late succumbing to “just one more chapter.”  And like Cheryl Strayed's Wild, Boys in the Boat is also destined to be a movie, to be directed by Kenneth Branagh.
