|Slow Down and Read Fundraising Campaign in November|
Ziad Youssef, a local attorney, is urging people to “Slow Down and Read” during the month of November to raise funds for the Whatcom County Library Foundation.
The story began when Youssef attended the Foundation’s Branch Out event earlier this year.
At the event, Youssef spoke with a guest who had received a speeding ticket. Youssef offered the services of his business, MyTrafficMan.Net to help the guest with the ticket. The gentleman insisted on paying, so Youssef suggested he make a donation to the Foundation – which he did!
This generated the idea for a fundraising campaign. Youssef will represent pro bono anyone who gets a civil traffic ticket in Whatcom County (speeding, fail to signal, etc.) if they make a donation to the Whatcom County Library Foundation during the month of November. The suggested amount is the face value of the ticket, but Youssef challenges donors to be generous.
