DATABASE RESOURCES

Access a library of rich adult skill building content and live, professional assistance in resume/cover letter writing, U.S. citizenship prep, MS Office Essential Skills Series, and more!

Job seekers can explore career choices, assess likes, abilities and strengths, research specific job salaries, and map a career path or practice certification tests for a variety of vocations, in English and Spanish.

LearningExpress Library will help you practice your English, improve your English reading and writing, and take GED practice tests in either English or Spanish. It also includes a complete library of English-learning materials with Spanish language explanations, including a “Math in English” section that can help you understand math written with English instructions. LearningExpress also offers a citizenship test you can practice with before taking the test required to become a US citizen.

Mango provides language learning lessons with reading/writing/listening components for English as a second language users. Also, there are lessons for learning Spanish, French, Russian, Italian and Pirate!

LOCAL RESOURCES    

Whatcom Literacy Council offers free one-on-one tutoring and classes that can help you learn English or improve on what you already know.

The Whatcom Hispanic Organization promotes opportunities for Hispanic and Latino involvement in the community, safety, and health, offered in a spirit of inter-cultural understanding and friendship. Includes some job listings in the Classifieds section.

STATE RESOURCES    

These are WorkSource staff in the Skagit office who are able to assist you in Spanish with your work search and other support. They are familiar with the needs of immigrant farm workers. Even if you are already working with the Bellingham WorkSource, you may also receive services in Spanish at WorkSource Skagit.
