Meet the Friends of Sudden Valley Library Print Email

FSVL LogoThis dynamic group of library advocates  incorporated as a non-profit in 2010 and took on the challenge of bringing a full-service library branch to South Whatcom residents, which includes Sudden Valley, Glenhaven, and Geneva neighborhoods.

The group has been raising funds to build a 6,500 sq. ft. library in leased space in one of the Sudden Valley community center barns.

 

The Friends are ecstatic to announce a recent grant of $100,000 to the building fund! When added to funds already raised, this grant puts the Friends at close to 2/3 of the total $300,000 needed, and construction will begin before year’s end! Additional fundraisers include their bimonthly Bingo, a Luau on June, and the Jazz Builds a Library concert series.  More information at www.suddenvalleylibrary.org.
