"Amazon's decision to work with libraries was a real winner for library patrons, "said Lizz Roberts, Community Relations Coordinator for WCLS. "The majority of our eBooks can now be used with Kindle readers." WCLS provides digital books as part of a statewide group called the Washington Digital Library Consortium. Library eBooks are already compatible with many popular mobile devices such as smartphones, MP3 players, and other eBook readers like the Barnes & Noble® Nook™ and Sony® Reader. EBook use at the library has been rising fast. "Checkout of eBooks in August 2011 increased 125% over last August," said Regan Robinson, Public Services Manager at WCLS.
