Library
Has for Kids
Preschool and
Toddler Storytimes:
Weekly,
half-hour programs of stories, songs, fingerplays and other amusements
are offered for children ages 1-3 (Toddler Time) and ages 3-5 (Preschool
Storytime). Check the Storytime
Schedule for times and locations, or call 384-3150 or your
local library for information.

School age Programs:
A variety of programs are offered to K-6th
graders at most of the libraries. These include crafts, storytelling,
puppetry and demonstrations. Check the Children’s Program Schedule for times and locations, or call 384-3150 or

Booklists:
We
publish lists of great books to give you a starting place for various
schools projects,
reading assignments or recreational reading. Our
staff
are also happy to make
recommendations and help you find a good
book
to read. Don't be afraid to ask! Also
look for a selection
of our booklists online.

Homework help:
Our
library staff are eager to help you use our print and electronic resources
to
help you complete your homework assignments. Check
out our list
of helpful homework sites.

Young Reader's Choice:
Whatcom
County Library participates in The Young Reader's Choice Award.
It is
selected by readers in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, British
Columbia,
Alberta, and Alaska. Students are eligible to vote
in the 4th - 8th grade and must
have read or listened to at least two
books on the ballot. Voting will take place in
your school. Homeschoolers
may vote at your local library. Voting takes place
in March. See the

Sasquatch
Award:
Whatcom
County Library participates in the Sasquatch Award.
It is
selected by readers in
Washington State. Students
of all ages are
eligible
to vote and
must
have read or listened to at least two books on

your school. Homeschoolers may
vote at your local library. Voting
takes place before April 1st.
