Ferndale Friends Book Club: November Print E-mail

The Ferndale Friends Book Club will meet to discuss The Beautiful Things that Heaven Bears by Dinaw Mengestu.
7 p.m. on Monday, November 23rd. 

An Ethiopian immigrant living in a down-trodden African-American section of Washington, D.C. befriends a white woman and her biracial daughter who move in next door. Everyone welcome.

The title for December 28th will be Old School by Tobias Wolff.

 
Holiday Book Sale and Open House Print E-mail

 Cider and cookies will be served all day in celebration and recognition of community support for Whatcom County rural libraries. Saturday, December 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The sale will include popular fiction and non-fiction, gift quality books, rare and old books, audio books, music, DVD and VHS movies for all ages. Library patrons are invited to join the Ferndale Friends to celebrate and shop. Ferndale Public Library

 
Stillness: The Art of Still Life Drawing Print E-mail

Windward High School art students practice careful observational drawing skills, design techniques and personal style along with historical symbolism in art in a variety of ways. Student art works are on display in the Ferndale Library large meeting room during the entire the month of December. Ferndale Public Library, 2222 Main St.
