Back in January, Library Journal reviewed books being published in early summer and recommended these titles as good reads for book clubs.  If you like character-driven, coming-of-age, or psychologically and emotionally rich stories, you will probably enjoy these as summer reads, even if you are not in a book club.  (Do consider joining one of the WCLS book clubs!)  The debut novel The Yonahlossee Riding Camp for Girls isn't the only one of these titles to get a lot of prepublication buzz; set during the Depression, it features a rebellious young heroine sent to a strict equestrian boarding school after a family tragedy that she had a role in.  The Good for Book Clubs - new in 2013 list includes both fiction and nonfiction selections - enjoy!
