|
The Digital Bookmobile visited the Lynden Public Library on its National Tour (www.digitalbookmobile.com) to showcase the free eBook download service available at all WCLS branch libraries. At this free event on Thursday, May 3rd, readers of all ages were able to learn how to download eBooks from the library through interactive demonstrations and instructional videos.
“Our downloadable eBook and audiobook collections have become very popular,” said WCLS Library Director Joan Airoldi. “In 2011, patrons downloaded more than 15,500 books, twice as many as in 2010. The Digital Bookmobile contains a gadget gallery of portable devices and interactive learning stations giving visitors an opportunity to search the library’s digital book collection, use supported mobile devices, and sample eBooks and audiobooks for themselves. The Digital Bookmobile is a service of WCLS and is operated by OverDrive, Inc. To check out and download digital books and audiobooks, visit WCLS.org and click on “Download Audiobooks and eBooks.” |
