Friends of the Library Print E-mail

In partnership with Whatcom County Library System, Friends of the Library provide vital support to the branch libraries in Whatcom County . All WCLS libraries, including the bookmobile, have established Friends groups.

Friends promote the library by providing programs, sponsoring special events, and raising funds for branch projects. Many branch library buildings are improved and expanded through Friends efforts. Two branch library buildings, Deming and Island , are owned and maintained by their local Friend groups. 

Many of our Friends groups (and the Foundation) are registered 501(c)(3) Nonprofits, giving you a secure and tax-deductible place for your charitable contributions.

Friends groups are always looking for new members - contact your local branch or bookmobile to find out how you can help.
