County residents love their nine colorful local branch libraries in Blaine, Deming, Everson, Ferndale, Island, Lynden, Point Roberts, and Sumas, and the popular Bookmobile service to Birch Bay, Lake Samish, South Lake Whatcom, Sudden Valley, and Wickersham. With 917,500 visits to your local community libraries that were open 19,545 hours, 1,810,024 materials were checked out in Whatcom County libraries in 2011.
Children and teens built skills through Summer Reading, craft, science, and writing workshops, while adults worked on their own projects like discussing books, learning job search techniques and practicing language skills. Whatever design you are working on, there is a class, online resource, book, magazine, or tutorial at Whatcom County Libraries for you. WCLS is the best place to begin!
