Banned Books Week is being celebrated this week (September 22-28) to raise awareness of the most challenged books of the past year. This annual event was created to support the freedom to read and the importance of the First Amendment. Classic titles such as To Kill a Mockingbird and The Great Gatsby have been on previous banned titles lists. This years list includes 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher and The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls.  To learn more, visit the American Library Association website or click HERE for a list of books banned between May 2012 and May 2013.
