Finding an old NYT article Print Email

A friend told me about an article published way back in 2006 in one of the magazine sections of the New York Times. If you search the Times website you can’t find articles from that long ago. However, if you have a Whatcom County Library Card you can access an online resource called ProQuest that allows you to search thousands of magazines for articles going back to 1972. How great is that? I found the article I was looking for in less than 2 minutes! ProQuest is available in the library, and to access at home all you need is your WCLS library card. To find ProQuest, and all our other online resources simply click on “Alphabetical Databases” under the Research tab. Don’t hesitate to contact a librarian via phone, email, or chat with any questions!

I am so excited to announce that Ask-WA is here! What is Ask-WA you say? Ask-WA is an online service that connects you with a live librarian at any time, day or night. Accessible from the WCLS research page Ask-WA allows you to chat with a reference librarian at your convenience from anywhere. Simply click on the Ask-A-Librarian button and get started. This service is free of charge and open to all Whatcom County residents. You can even take Ask-WA with you by downloading an app on your smart phone (iphone or android). Ask-WA is provided by the Whatcom County Library System in partnership with the Washington State Library. With Ask-WA your librarians are online, 24 hours a day 7 days a week!
